On Sydney's waterfront
This month, CNN Business Traveller hunts out the attractions on Sydney's greatest feature: its harbor. Admire the Sydney Opera House, take a ferry across the waters, fly up the coast by seaplane or tackle a hair-raising summit of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Trips around the harbor A trip to Sydney is nothing without a tour of the harbor. A number of cruise operators run cruises throughout the day and evening from Circular Quay. Another option for a good view of the second largest natural harbor in the world is to catch a passenger ferry to the suburb of Manly. Visit Sydney Ferries website. Fly for food along the coastline A pricey, but impressive, jaunt is by seaplane along the coastline between Sydney and Palm Beach via the harbor. For $260, take one of Sydney Seaplanes' fly/dine packages that departs from Rose Bay and drops travelers off at private beaches for picnics or at award-winning restaurants. One stop is at Cottage Point Inn in the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park. Here visitors can dine with the locals on "honest and modern" Australian food such as oven roast kingfish fillet, wild barrramundi or Tasmanian ocean trout.
